H. R. 5--"Commemorating the passing of Ralph Ben Hovermale,
former Delegate, businessman and community leader."
Whereas,
Ralph Ben Hovermale of Berkeley Springs in Morgan
County was born March 29, 1909, the son of O. B. and Edna
Hovermale, and died September 19, 1990; and
Whereas,
He was married to Anna Hunter Hovermale who died on
October 27, l985, leaving behind two daughters, Anna Jo Crosby
and Cynthia Ann Hovermale; and
Whereas,
He was President and Manager of the Berkeley Club
Bottling & Manufacturing Company, Inc., and a member of the board
of directors of Citizens National Bank; and
Whereas,
Mr. Hovermale devoted much of his life to his
community and to worthwhile projects within his community,
including his membership in the Kiwanis Club, Chamber of
Commerce, Morgan County Wildlife Association and the Morgan
County Economic Development Corporation; and
Whereas,
He served as a member of this body from 1962 until
1966; and
Whereas,
Ralph Ben Hovermale's life represented the highest
qualities of public service and his passing has saddened us all;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That regret is hereby expressed by the members at the
passing of Ralph Ben Hovermale, former delegate, businessman and
community leader; and, be it
Further Resolved
, That the Clerk of the House is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the daughters of
Ralph Ben Hovermale.
